Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Schwinn Exit- Official or Pacific Cycles Product?

http://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-Freewh.../dp/B001STXBAI

Is this a real Swchinn or one made for the mass market stores? Is it good for the money?

*Just curious not looking to buy anything right now.

Well, since Schwinn is owned by Pacific, I'm not sure what you mean. If you're asking whether it's an LBS versus x-mart product, see if it is the Schwinn Bike Catalog. Those are the higher quality LBS bikes.

Ah, I see it's not in there. I was just confused because this bike for example:

http://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-Volare...925812&sr=1-12

Says "By Pacific Cycle" on amazon, while as the Exit said "By Schwinn"

That's just the Amazon.com vendor I think.

There is no such thing as a "real Schwinn" in the classic sense of the word "Schwinn." Schwinn is just the name on a decal placed on cheap, Asian-built frames (NTTIAWWT)

There are different levels of Schwinn. One product line is sold in the big box stores like Wal-Mart; the other line is only available at bike shops. Big difference in quality.
