Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

maybe not the best photos, but i'm very happy with how the build turned out.. a bit more practical to ride around these parts than a track bike.

I know what you are saying. It would seem like I would be at swap meets on perfect saturdays hunting down vintage parts instead of on the road. Dont get me wrong I love doing that and always will. I just think it can wait until much later in my life. The good news is I have sold two bikes already so im well on my way to my goal. I just have to decide now between:

All City Macho Man either version.
Specialized Crux
Cannondale CAADX

testrode one of the ultegra discs few weeks ago, was pretty cool but it was 2 sizes too small so i couldnt get a good feel for it, and im not sure i like shimanos shifting style
not sure discs are really necessary either, i did sw8 fixay skids locking up the rear with ease fully seated

Here's a crappy photo of my Long Haul Trucker. Just built it back up after replacing the fork so I have a ridiculous spacer stack until I decide how long to cut my fork.

Pretty much the only acceptable gold component on a bike is the chain...

It's a touring, doesn't matter if it looks odd. Just replace those long pull levers unless you intend on getting v-brakes.

No, but I know where Dave-o got his name.
Arundel is a local company and they make amazing cages and saddle bags.
I also prefer their gecko grip to just about any tape on the market.

Arundel Ave. is the name of the street Dave-O and Chris W. live on. Dave-O gave me two prototypes of the first Arundel carbon bottle cages to try out on my road bike, and until recently I had them mounted on that bike.
