Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Dude, stop trying to put limits on the amount of things we can argue about here. It's not appreciated at all.

Haha, I really don't think he was crossing any lines by asking to see geared bikes. What gives, man?

Not mine, but here's a bike my wife built this past fall...mostly from stuff we had laying around. It's 1x7.

It's got some new parts on it since taking these (saddle, wheelset) but I don't have any current pics.

Just Kiddin.
Got too many bikes already.
If I was to build a geared bike, it'd be like this.
Luv Disc brakes.

Hey,
well i'm the one who started this thread, and really I gotta say I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. You seem like a good guy so ya kind of gotta admit that although off topic it's great to see some of these other guy's bikes.

It's kinda nice knowin' that these guys also have other bike interest beyond a singled geared bike. And honestly I don't know how you could be into cycling and not have a geared bike. And lookin like alot of these folks do.

Anyway bro', I say just sit back and enjoy the ride...

man, people have a LOT to *****/whine about around here....

I belong to a few different topics of message boards, and I see no harm in asking what other bikes SS/FG riders ride as well....
it's not like the people on the road bike forum are all barging this forum with pics of their bikes..?? hahaha

if you don't like the topic title, don't click on it..!!! Geez....

My current DH/FR beast. Setup as a 1x9 so not meant for any xc. Went to a WTB seat and MRP chainguide, so no more eyesore red/orange bits.

OK, now back on topic:

Not mine, BTW - I honestly don't have any geared bikes anymore, and am not about to build one just to show it off here.

Out of my six regular riders (see my earlier post), I got two for free, one new as a gift (but it only cost my wife ~$300), and paid a total of less than $200 for the other three. My best road bike, a 1987 Schwinn Prelude has cost me a total of $65 so far to purchase and fix up.
