Also posted on the C&V forum. Here is a bike I have owned for 29 years, just recently repainted.
I have others (Yo Eddy, Merlin Extralight) but this one I am especally attached to. Alot of good memories
go along with this bike.

Well I don't have them anymore, but I used to ride these two cheap, ugly old thangs:
The MTB was pretty crappy. The epitome of beater bikes. Don't even remember the brand of the frame. Got the whole thing for $50 and sold it at the same price.
The road bike was just ok, except for the fact that it was way too big (look at that saddle height. yeesh!), plus I hated friction shifters so I usually just rode it in high gear...
which then led me to sell it and get a sweet fyxxxy!!!
Cool story.

Johnce and jetsanchez, bikes are amazing!
I'm just copy/pasting what I just posted on velospace:
I've been restoring and putting this bike together for over a month. Had the frame shipped from the original owner in California. The chrome was dull so I wetsanded and polished.I disassembled the whole bike, cleaned up some very light surface rust, frame-savered, then started rebuilding. All parts were cleaned/lubed, new cables all around, etc...
The bike had a mis-matched group of parts when I got it. After some research and common sense, I came to the conclusion that the bike originally came with a chorus group. 88 was the first year for chorus, and the other campy bits pre-dated 1988. I had the ventos from my other road bike, so I put them back to use.
Eventually I'd like to get everything back to original, but I'm loving it as it is. Such a smooth, comfortable ride. Gonna ride the **** out of it this spring/summer!

My GT ZuM. This bike is so much fun to ride.
Stock grips were worn out, and had some Oury's laying around.

Nothing special, but I've had good times on these bikes. Sold the purple monster last fall.
