Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thanks! I definitely enjoy my Allez (as I do my other bikes). I'm glad to know more about it. Of course, all the components have changed, since I purchased the frame alone off a hook on the ceiling of my local bike shop.

why, yes it is!

@Homebrewk Thanks! I gave it a good solid cleaning, haven't touched the cables/housing... thinking I am just going to leave it as is and use it as my foul weather/who-cares bike

So basically you will use it for as long as you stay in Portland.

Yeah, I get it. It isnt for everyone but if I could only have one bike, it would be the Vaya. Ive used it for commuting, group rides, loaded touring and with the 700x42 tires, Ive even done some singletrack. It doesnt excel at anything, but does a decent job at everything.

I dig it! The only thing I would have done is wrapped your cables. That more personal preference though. I like to and am going to wrap my cables on my road bike build (almost done btw)
