Tires just arrived yesterday, they have not been glued yet. Despite the unholy mix of Campagnolo and Shimano, I'm having a good feeling about this one .

I like it.
it is an odd mix. campy dual pivots are just as good as DA and Campagnolo brake levers are more comfortable than shimano in my opinion. If I were going to run a mixed group, I would use campy everywhere except the rear shifter, derailleur, and freehub. As much as I love campy, early shimano indexing was spot on.
not telling you to change it, it's just an unconventional mix.
edit: a larger rear housing loop would likely improve your shifting.

Currently friction shifting because the shifter insert is for 6-speed while I have a 7-speed freewheel. I will look into changing one or the other at some point, but I am accustomed to friction shifting 7-speed on other bikes so it is not an immediate issue. I agree that the early Campy indexing was rough, the Syncro-II shifters on this bike shift like a truck where Shimano feels like shifting a sports car.
The Shimano brake levers fit my hands very well, though they are not as comfortable as the Mafac levers I use on other bikes. I have never used Campy levers, so I don't know the difference.

early 90s trials bike...e-stays, bash guard, giant magura hydraulic brakes! a local CL listing that i picked up on a lark. geared when i got it, i am now in the process of converting to SS (with a 24/20). 'hooger-booger' is the brand, and was apparently a european subsidiary of scott.

Was originally planning on getting a CAAD 10 but realized I'm a kid with a minimum wage part time job and that goal didn't seem too realistic and it would take forever to finish. So I decided since I love the ride of my Saeco(stiff, great handling for a frame it's age) so much that i'm gonna build it back up with a modern group. Just had the new fork and headset installed today. Yes I know it's not finished but wanted to share my excitement, and maybe get suggestions for the build.
Can't decide if I should go white tape and saddle or black tape and saddle.

Now that I really think about it black would go well with everything else. Force was the plan with the addition of campy chorus or record levers. Why Campy levers? I love the look and feel of Campy levers on traditional bend bars. Plus campy 10 spd levers are almost $150 cheaper then new force levers on ebay. I asked jdg about the srampagnolo setup on his Vaya and he says he likes it better then all sram.

But then you don't have zero loss...
Just go full campy then.

The campy equivalent of Force is hundreds of dollars more expensive. I am poor.
