haha yeah you did, but you were right the cages it had before looked pretty ghetto. These cheap ones I got from REI look and function a lot better.

Nashbar special it looks like? It's really not a bad frame at all. Rides and handles quite well, plenty stiff, I think you will like it.

I have the same frame in size 58, the bike weighs a hair less than 20lbs with pedals.

Yup! I went with a 52, because the ST is real weird, it had a 56cm ST on the size 52, and a short 52.5cm TT. But I'm making up for it by getting a longer stem than my last bike. What components are you running? Looks like it may be Tiagra also :) Our setups may be quite similar.

I forgot to buy waterbottle cages. Time to ebay some sweet crabon fibre cages.

I finally took the stickers off the othercheck's wheels for a neater look and reverted back to cantis. Gigantor fender space is for the phatties

105 shifters, dura ace derailleurs, ultegra brakes, truvativ elita gxp crankset (heavy @ 900g w/bb but it works well enough). For some reason the nashbar frames have short top tubes relative to the seat tube as you've noticed, I am using a 120mm stem. The frame size is actually very close to my vintage bikes which have a ~2cm longer st than tt (58/56). It works out pretty well because IME bikes seem to handle and fit better with longer stems, most people use too short of stems it seems like (cue adriano). Another thing about the frame sizing is it provides a taller head tube so you don't need a massive spacer stack to get the bars at the right height. It's better to go higher/longer than shorter/shorter. Good luck with your build!

Thanks! I'll post some proper pictures one it's all done. Just got a new stem for her in the mail :)

calbob76 10-18-11 09:53 PM

how are they performing? looking for new tires for the geared bike

Gyeswho 10-18-11 11:32 PM

they are great tires, if you don't mind the price. Rolling is very supple and they work really well in the wet. They cut a lil more easily then other tires, but I don't get many flats with the tire

The cheapest site I know of with free shipping, Use code:VELONEWS10 for 10% off

Muffin Man 10-18-11 11:52 PM

I've heard that continental gp4000s are great tires. Also cheapest from pbk witht the velonews10 coupon.

Don't forget they have periodic deals on them/ other popular tyres where you can stack with coupons for additional savings! Not to mention the free international shipping! Can't go wrong! :D

I tracked down a Rabobank team issued C40, ridden by Thomas Dekker. I like it a lot so far.

Just finished her last night. I call her "The Falcon" because "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid."

First ever build, I'm quite proud of her. I'll snap some pics with the DSLR in a few days.

I put some Hudz on my De Rosa to give it an old school look; I am not sure yet if I like the look but they sure are comfy.
