I feel like Thomson products are very prone to cracking.
Too bad I love them.

Splendid transformation! Are those criterium handlebars, perchance? Could just use some classier toe straps if you don't end up putting the Looks back on. Funny that the PO changed the stem out but couldn't be bothered with putting platform pedals on.

Thanks.
The bars are Cinelli 56-40, I think they were aimed at criterium riders when they were new. Yeah, it's weird all right. I kind of think the bike was sold to a larger person who was probably looking for a hybrid or something. I could upgrade the clips / straps, but really want to go clipless, especially since I have the original pedals and they're in great shape.

Very cool. I have been thinking about a Soma for a while now and the Rando looks great but I'm not sure I want 650b(nothing wrong with it though)

really tho, the only reason to run 650b is so you can run chubby road tires without all the spinning rotation of 29r slicks, or the not enough momentum from 26r slicks
AND ALSO RANDO IS THE NEW FIXEI

But I actually did a rando and my road bike is not suited for it. I was looking at Soma because I can get one at wholesale cost. Since I don't have a fixay I need a rando bike. concrete reasoning.

if you can get it at wholesale, the soma GR is pretty awesome compared to what else is available right now. anything else costs over twice as much.
