27x1 1/4 Flip flops?
I recently got a nishiki rally and wanted to make it a fixed but it's sized for older 27 inch tires what should I do? I can't find any new rims with a flip flop that are 27 inchs by 1 1/4, do any of you know where I could buy some?

Harris Cyclery has them - see https://sheldonbrown.com/harris/wheels1.html#630
So does bicyclewheels.com - see https://www.bicyclewheels.com/merchan...egory_Code=R27
There are probably others. If it were my bike, I would see if it could be easily converted to 700c (ie, iso 622), and if so do it. The conversion is easy IF the brake pads can be adjusted 4mm farther down then they are for your 27" (ie, iso630) wheels. There is a much greater selection of tires available for iso 622.

you can also run 700c front and back with tektro long arm brakes.

I really like the look of replacing 27" wheels with 700c's, then putting knobby tires to fill in the newly found clearances.

my 27x1-1/4" -> 700c conversion runs 700x35mm tires with fenders.
it's very easy as mbmuller describes.
