Schwinn Cutter to Eighthinch Scrambler: Worth it?
Alright, so I'm thinking up switching up my Schwinn Cutter for a different frame because it's a tad bit too big for me. It's a size medium (54cm) and it fits me marginally well, but the standover is just awful (taintcrusher) and it's difficult for me to adjust my pedal straps because I have to reach down so far. I recently rode my friends 49cm bike, and while it felt too small, it still felt more comfortable than mine.
There's a local guy selling 1/8" framesets for $100, and I'm thinking of getting one (after test riding 51-53cm) and then switching all my components onto it. I can think of two advantages for doing this:
1) Better fit
2) Lighter weight (4130 vs the hi-ten on my Cutter)
Any thoughts from BFSSFG regarding this purchase?

The cutter's sizing is pretty off. The small felt like a medium to me. Don't know about the Scrambler, so can't help here...

If you can get it for a very good deal, then do it. Sell your old one, buy the one that fits. Otherwise save up for a real upgrade, like a track frame or custom frame.
