post images of clamp-on housing stops

in a related thread, I asked why/why not rear brakes on a fixie... that was the Ideology thread.

This is the Applied Theory thread.

Before I decide to add a rear brake, I'd like to see how others have done the cabling on bikes that don't come with brazed-on housing stops... I was picturing something very basic, but many of the clamp-on units I've seen online are CNC, billeted aluminum, kinda beefy or whatnot.

There's a "Problem Solvers" one that's got grooves for two cables (only need one)... and there's another silver aluminum one I've seen on ebay that looks nice in the package, but seems like overkill.

So, if you've added clamp-on housing stops, show them here.

Thanks.

Google for Dia-Compe Cable Housing Clips.

But I would use zip ties if you aren't sure. I think putting it on and off could scratch the paint and stuff.

Alternatively, I know some hipsters are skipping cable guides by winding cables around the top tube. I think if you are using a frame-pad, you can get away with it easy.

Sounds like the kind of this that would drastically reduce braking power depending on how many loops around the TT you are talking about.

these are the dia-compe ones... exactly what I was picturing as "simple"... (I could see brushing some rubber-coating on the inside to minimize scratching, too... and then painting them the frame color...)

but the cable tie idea is a good one, too.

keep the ideas coming! (and pics, too)

They came stock on my raleigh rush hour, they looked a lot better than the clamp on ones, at least on a black bike with black cable housing
They also came off clean, with no harm to the paint

Those aren't cable stops. I couldn't find any good cable stops when I was looking, so I ran full housing.

Those Dia-Compe housing clips are sexy. Saw these in the Townies thread

You could probably use one of these too

Totally super cool for center-pulls, but don't need in my case since the side pulls have the stop built into the caliper...

These were so hard to re-install on my bike when I was running singlespeed.

I'm not sure why you would need stops, when it's easier to run a full length of cable. Wabi Cycles offers two versions of clips/guides, if that's what you're after.
