One or more chainring bolts got loose / broke and fell out = tacoed chainring due to plate buckling.

Haha. It's actually my friend. I thought it might also be the quality of the crank- but no one mentioned that so I guess it's probably just my br3h ma$shing too hardz. Is this a common occurrence though?

Guy at my LBS had that happen when he swapped chainrings and forgot to fully tighten all his bolts after just getting them started. He actually lost a whole arm off his spider too because of it.
