Gearing combos
This thread refers more to teeth number rather than gear ratios...
Used to run 42/16 or 42/14 then got new cranks 48t. I read somewhere, pretty sure it was on Sheldon Brown's site that even teeth chainrings with even teeth cogs wear longer and help evenly wear a chain...on the other hand, a few people have told me to run even teeth on the 'rings and odd teeth on the cog.
What gives?

So I'm guessing if you skid stop a lot, that would help prolong tire life..?
