Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

yellow turbo saddles?

I've got a yellow Turbo I bought a few years back, still in the box. It seems the prices for the NOS Turbos are insanely high, while the new production is far more reasonable. But what do I have then? Are there any yellow Turbos in the new production, or is this one actually special? Just wanted to get a sense before trading it away and finding out it's worth more than I would guess.

Blicksblocks probably has a good answer on this one. I know she's got one.

Economics 101: it's only worth what someone is willing to pay.
Hipster 101: It's worth much more than that because it's yellow.

Ebay can answer your question better than BF.

Enjoy

Too true. Indeed, I checked eBay first, but only one sold in the searchable past and it was used. I supposed I could just put it on eBay and let the market decide, but hopefully I can figure out a rough value and make a trade instead. In part, I'm curious whether this may not be NOS so much as NNS, since I bought the saddle only ~5 years ago from (I think) Nashbar, and I figured someone here may know. We'll see if blicks chimes in.

PM me if you got a price in mind. I was going to order a white one, but this will match better. Thanks

the yellows were not made in the reissue.
prices for new old stock has plummeted because now you can buy a new one for around 40.
i would say, fifty is a good price, or check ebay and find the lowest price for a brand new one plus shipping and add ten dollars.
if that is not satisfying, i would say sell it for how much you bought it for, minus the used condition it is in now. hopefully someone will bite.

Holy crap, I had a yellow one way back in the day when I raced BMX. I thought it was awesome.

Saddles...wheelsets too. Lots of prices are coming down for parts, there's that much more available now.

I paid $25 for mine and it's kinda destroyed (aesthetically). I wouldn't have paid that much but it was part of a barter.

Meh, maybe I'll just hold onto it after all since I really like Turbos anyway. I just didn't want to plant my butt on it if it was really worth a mint. Thanks for the info.

They only make black and white in the re-issue. When I was looking for one I almost bought a yellow perforated but I ended up getting a white perforated. There is a Celeste one on ebay right now for 80$. I'm guessing you could get around 100$ for it.
