Saddle and seatpost

Well the last two "rat"-parts on my bike beside the frame are an old Zoom seatpost and an old Selle Royal Viper saddle.

First off, I'm a sucker for Thomson and love my Thomson stem, so naturally i have been eying the Elite and Masterpiece seatpost too.
Is the Masterpiece worth the premium over the Elite?
And how long should i buy my post, the one I have now is 300mm and more than long enough. Therefore I was considering the 240mm Elite or MP, but I started thinking that if I ever got an smaller frame a 330mm might be nice (got a size 56 frame and would like a 54 later on).

This is how much of the 300mm seatpost that is in use:

Second off, the saddle. I really like my Viper, its just very ***** after many years of use. What would you recommend as a better substituted for a Viper? The Charge Spoon looks like a nice alternative.

Thanks

I can't say anything worthwhile about the seatpost, but I would stick with whatever saddle you are already most comfortable using (i.e. the Viper), since you already know you love it, and everyone's butt is different. What works for someone else might not work for you, so if you like the Viper, stick with the Viper!
