400 dollors what would you do?
soo ive been following the 5000k thread about what you would do if ya could spend 5k on a fixie. So i pose another question. I have a maruishi frame that has stock crank and stem and seat post. Im new to the bikes soooo what would ya get with 400 dollors? Could it get ya far?

kidding. kind of.
if the frame fits you, by all means just convert it. make sure you get nice wheels that fit your needs... i'd even custom build them because you can just transfer the wheelset if you ever get a new frame.
making the gearing work for whatever the hell crankset you have is probably the best way to stretch that 400 as far as possible. i'd get a nice saddle that you like and is comfortable. test ride some if you can. handlebars are expensive, i'd just get those from a parts bin.
basically, i'd put everything into wheels and if you can, put the leftover into saddle, drivetrain, foot retention and brakes. all the other things are pretty secondary.
edit: nevermind. i just saw your bike in that other thread. the kilo is how i'd spend 400.

I don't know what dollors are. But if I had 400 dollars, I would spend spend some money on a decent wheel set and the rest on spelling lessons.

LMAO This whole time i kept seeing that bike in the 5k thread! It really only cost 349.00 (dollars) Im a little slow lol
skadoosh...*cough bag cough*^^^^^>>>>>notice the corection of the spelling Thanks for pointing that out....get some theropy. Your habit of makeing others feel less than will porbably hurt you bad later in life. It will cost more than 400.00 dollors though!
Why is that sooo cheap for a new bike? Is that really a nice frame?

I don't understand why the Internet breaks your ability to spell/use proper grammar. Look at your signature. It says, "I want soooo bad." I'm just saying that using the English language in the manner that you do will never garner respect or straight answers from many people on this board. That's the unfortunate but honest truth.
Anyways, for $400 I would save up a bit longer and just buy a Kilo TT. Sell your conversion.

I guess I haven't been a part of BF long enough to know whose face that is.
Also, crazyed, your Kilo picture is absolutely gorgeous. Makes the Kilo totally look like it's worth $5000. I'm going to make it my desktop background, so I can be perpetually reminded of the awesomeness.

Start with a good set of brakes- or if not... a decent paint program when you end up on this forum:
