Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Cause it doesn't have bright colors. Fixy's have bright colors. I thought this was covered in the Noobz thread? Look for something lime green with pink wheels, blue handlebars and a brown brooks with all NJS. Throw in a yellow top tube for credz if need be.

In all honesty though. If you want a fixed gear to ride around town or to commute on look at the Kilo TT from BD, a Fuji Classic track or Feather, Jamis Sputnik or Beatnik... Give us a budget and we can help betterz

Hogwash! OP is the same dude who asked about carbon cranksets. He's obviously a few steps above what anyone says here.

i like nice things too but goodness, he will have more money in his frameset than i have in my 58cm 17lb fixed bike dressed with carbon fiber, campagnolo record/chorus, white industries, and dt swiss components.

but scrod, steel is real!

seriously the langster s-works is awesome. i would likely leave it in my room to be admired instead of lock it up outside the grocery store, though.

I did. But I also didn't see how much he was paying for it. IF its a good deal, sure buy it, but personally I doubt it is. This is also the guy asking about durability of a carbon crankset for his fixy. Sounds like he has money and no idea what he's doin. I could be wrong, but thats what it seems like to me.

A few guys here ride the S-Works on the street and rate it pretty highly.

Personally, I really don't like the look of the compact geometry, with the sloping top tube, and looks are really what it's all about, right guyz?
