DO WANT

Scrodzilla 07-15-10 01:26 PM

Those are pretty rad.

Your sig caused a nosefull of grape Gatorade, btw.

kyselad 07-15-10 01:31 PM

Could be promising, but it's hard to tell without details. I recently decided to track down a pair of non-disco SPD shoes and found a handful that bore at least some resemblance to a normal shoe. Everything I found was ridiculously wide and/or had a floppy sole, either of which is a complete performance killer in my book. Maybe these will be different?

Dr. Banzai 07-15-10 01:39 PM

It better have a stiff sole. Not carbon stiff, but not Vans soft.

rustybrown 07-15-10 01:48 PM

Not anticipating the price tag.

Would Ian Mackaye approve?

Dr. Banzai 07-15-10 01:51 PM

If those vittorios were cheaper than $200...

cc700 07-15-10 08:59 PM

well i'm unemployed right now so there's no way i'll actually buy them, but maybe one day. i'm a motivated worker is what i'm sayin'.

dsh 07-15-10 09:03 PM

These might be the shoes that convince me to put spds on my city bikes.

cc700 07-15-10 09:14 PM

my thoughts exactly.

Squirrelli 07-15-10 09:15 PM

Does anyone know how stiff the soles are?

cc700 07-15-10 09:28 PM

the people developing them do, otherwise i'm pretty sure no one outside of the company has even seen the actual shoes, let alone feet-molested them.

since mission workshop is ex-facto chrome guys and gals i'm pretty sure they'd be at least as stiff and AS walkable as the chrome shoes, but i am pretty sure anything said will be speculation until promo copies are distributed outside the development team.

cc700 08-30-10 10:36 PM

I bought a pair in their SF store today.

AMAZING. haven't biked with them yet but they're stiff and good for walking, too.

Dr. Banzai 08-30-10 11:16 PM

shill?

oneeyedhobbit 08-31-10 12:19 AM

Holy f*ck, they have them at the Hub co-op, which is my LBS of choice. They look beautiful and like I wouldn't have to take them off at work if I didn't want to. I may have to check this out asap.

Just posted a review:
http://ceramicconfessions.wordpress....del-bike-shoe/

Basically... I could be happier but not by much. This shoe is an outstanding proof of concept and a true success, albeit pricey and not for everyone.

It bikes better than my adidas marathons do, and it walks better than my sambas. It's not without faults, but if you have the money, you can't do better than these if you want to do it all with one shoe.

adriano 09-05-10 06:45 AM

above post aside, this will really be the askquestionsabouttherondelbutneverbuyitthread.

wearyourtruth 09-05-10 04:19 PM

the question that really matters to me is, do they make that obnoxious clicking?!? i've had very comfortable shoes that just weren't *quite* recessed enough to not click and grind on the pavement.

cc700 09-05-10 04:26 PM

they click when i stomp hard on curbs or stairs, but not on flat ground even running.

adriano 09-05-10 05:31 PM

if you wear any shoes like this long enough, theyll click.

xavier853 09-05-10 05:39 PM

Clipless shoes that you can actually wear as casual! This is indeed something I want!

they don't look as good after my 70 mile day in the rain today:(

i'm sure they'll clean up nice though. yay leather.

siran 09-07-10 03:10 AM

Good God, I can't imagine riding with those things. Looks like it's got 0 ventilation.

seau grateau 09-07-10 06:49 AM

Don't really want very much.
