Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Wtf

I was researching u-locks online trying to find a good deal. I came across a forum for bike-thieves. After reading through it for oh, I dunno, 20 seconds I rode straight to my lbs and picked up a kryptonite evo mini. These dudes are pieces of $***!

actually, reading bike thief forums is probably smart, not because i want to steal bikes, but to learn about what they look for.
trust me, i have enough bikes as it is lol

but from reading that small snipet, it seems the small time thieves definitely prefer cable locks.

**** In my experience whenever I carry them in my bag- even concealed everyone looks at me funny. When I just carry them in blind sight e.g. my hand no one gives a damn. I litreally just pulled up to a bike tied to a tree, cut the lock, put it in the back of my car and drove off.

It's ****ing hilarious, whenever I try to be casual about it e.g. pull it out of my bag and do that **** I get the feeling everyones looking at me.

****ing society.
From that thread...

It's like his thought process is like "it's crazy when I'm out stealing bikes in public I feel like everyone is staring at me? The **** is wrong with people can't a guy just steal a bike without being stared at?" Honestly, this makes me assume all bike thieves have the social competence of an 5 year old.

That forum is awful. Did you see all the topics on how to kidnap people's pets and hold them for ransom? Disgusting people.

Wasn't that a movie? Except for ransom it was David Spade trying to get with some girl with an accent?

What the hell is wrong with people, to have complete disregard for not only another living creatures life, but someones pet. My childhood dog was poisoned with what I think was probably anti-freeze, I despise the human race.

Check the one out about killing a neighbor's dog. Ideas range from kidnapping, vodka/chocolate poisoning, BB gun shooting, and putting fishing line in food in order to tie the dog's intestines. Seriously ****ed up forum.

PLEASE tell me someone else saw this thread on that "Bad Ideas" forum and laughed as hard as I did:

best way to deal drugs (dealing drugs with remote control helicopter)
"get a remote control helicopter and tape the drug package to it.

get a friend to drive your car while you fly the helicopter to the drug location drop off while you follow the helicopter with your car...

...this is full proof, all drug dealers should buy remote control helicopters."

That is one of the funniest ****ing things I've ever heard. And the dude was being serious, he spends several more posts explaining the logistics of the whole thing. But seriously, if I could get weed by just shooting down remote control helicopters around town, I would be a happy man.

But yeah, really messed up people on that forum, cheesy drug-dealing ideas aside.
