So...what have you done to your Soho? Me? Well, the gearing is stock and in fixed mode...took off the chainguard and reflectors....cut the Crowbar down to about 48cm...flipped the stem and installed the Crowbar backwards and down so you can read the "Crowbar"(s) as you look down and forward from the saddle...installed Bontager bar-ends to make quasi-bullhorns out of the configuration...installed Shimano R540 clipless (and cleats on Northwaves)...installed my trusty Brooks Professional Ti...installed Redline chain tensioners...I'll eventually up the gearing to 48/15~16 as my legs and knees get stronger...pretty aggressive position, but doable for 1~2hr spins...much easier now to climb moderate hills with proper ergos and hand positions...easier rides against the headwinds...nice workouts...pics to follow if I had a camera and knew how lol...fun bike!

I also ride it fixed. I installed Soma Urban Pursuit handlebars and managed to squeeze the stock brake levers onto them. I ride 44 x 17 (stock gear ratio except on a fixed cog) but have also thought about going up a tad. I ride a Gatorskin on the back after having shredded two Bontrager Hard Cases.

I ride with the rack for long distances (20+) or when I'm getting groceries- otherwise I leave it off to avoid dorkiness.

I really like the bike as it is now and don't have any plans to change anything anytime soon (maybe add bar tape).

Do you know if the stock rims will take larger tires (for the winter)?

Coolio!....another Soho-S rider I don't know if the stock rims will take a 32mm or larger tire. I'm contemplating a presta-valve wheelset in fix/fix....maybe run a 15 and a 17 (for when I'm far from home and my legs/knees start to stress). I like the 28mm tires. Its a good compromise for me between speed, compliance, and durability.....and no flats, so far in 500 miles. I pump the tires to 120psi before every ride. I weigh 250lbs and it doesn't feel harsh at all to me. I don't skid, but I try not to use the brakes as much as possible.

I just installed a 15t out back. A 44/15 = 79.2" gear instead of the stock's 44/17 = 69.9" gear. I was going to do a 48/17 = 76.2", but this was readily available and the LBS said the smaller chainring would be stiffer under power. The near 80" is not too crazy for my knees since most of my spinning is on relatively flat roads. Plus, I think it gives me a good feel of what to expect (gearing-wise) for when I pursue track classes/training/...uh...racing(?) next year....or sooner
