Non fixie dad needs suggestions for Fixe Kid build
Ok,
I will admit my knees just don't get fixie. But my almost 13 year old want's to reincarnate his current rebuilt old Univega as a fixie. I am going with the flow (will insist on a fixie/ss flip Flop and a front brake)
So I am looking for ideas/recommendations on:
inexpensive FG/SS flop flop wheelset
fixed cog
single speed cog
and any other ideas for this build project (powder vs creative paint etc)
thanks

more info?
In shape?
height?
weight?
How active is he REALLY.
riserbar bike or drops type bike?
If he isnt really in shape you will want to spend a lil more on a lighter wheelset to make life a bit easier on him. if he doesnt have fun he wont want to ride. Take him to a shop and have him fitted to the bike after you are done, best money you can spend on ANY bike.
