im sorrah Dsh, but the last time this happened they changed the price within 24 hours. and this is not a particularly great deal on the saddle. i've seen it at least once before. not all of us are such ballers we can order a fresh orion for each day of the week. This helps all of us students and poor folks make a little spare part money. and I doubt they'll run out of them.

I apologize, I was trying to assess whether or not they were a good deal. I was hesitant about starting a new thread considering the frequency of redundant/frivolous threads (I say with five posts).

Coghouse just put up a bunch more 727tr's, some 725tr's and 721tr's up for auction; they're a worser bunch but there seems to be enough to go around for cheap. Potentially sub $100 shipped.

^^^ That looks like a mighty deal. Comes out to roughly $15 shipped. I'm currently running a stem with 26mm clamp, would a 25.4 bar stay on tight even if I don't use a shim? When using a 26mm bar the face-plate doesnt close all the way onto the stem, it has a slight gap on top and bottom. I'm thinking I might be able to do with a 25.4 bar and not use a shim.

whoa, I've always wanted to try rise bars out...And the've got 6 dollar stems. I may have to grab both as a christmas/cheap parts to complete my new build buy.
Really? Do you need a shim that badly? My stem looks like it has enough room to clamp down a bit harder to make that small of a change probably work.

Your cog is slipping.
I love how everyone always wants to say using 25.4 bars in a 26.0 stem will result in fatal consequences. We're talking about .6 of a mm here.
My setup right now consists of 25.4 Nitto risers and a 26.0 Velo Orange stem and it works just fine. I tried using a Nitto 25.4 to 26.0 shim when I first built my bike and couldn't even fit the damn thing in there. I'm not worried.
It was the same thing with my 25.4 VO Porteur bars in a 26.0 Nitto Dynamic quill stem - I couldn't even squeeze both halves of the shim in there without having to spread the stem apart further than I was comfortable with doing.

*doesn't feel guilty for starting the highly anticipated verbal showdown*
I just honestly cant see how using a 25.4mm bar on a 26mm clamp can result in as tragic a scenario as you propose though. The difference in mm is so minute. I'm hesitant to try it now since mr engineer here disapproves of it and he probably has been cycling longer than i've been alive.

^^^ It really isnt about a matter of being able to afford a new stem or not. i am currently running a 26mm stem with 26mm bullhorns and am perfectly satisfied with it. I have never used risers but for the great price another member brought to attention i just may try it out to see what is so great about them. if a 25.4mm bar wouldnt be safe to use on my current 26mm stem and i would have to buy a new stem just to try out this bar then there is no point of having a 'great deal' on the riser bar.
