Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I remember seeing that miyata a while ago on CL and thinking I'd like it, if it weren't for that fork and resulting jack angles.

I have a pair of Suntour Superbe tubular track wheels for sale. Front and rear both 32 spokes laced 3x to Mavic GP4 tubular rims. Front wheel's spokes are tied and soldered, this makes for a very strong wheel. The rear wheel is built with bladed spokes that cut through the air like a knife. Front tire is a Vittoria Rally and holds air, but rear tire has a puncture and will need to be replaced. Both hubs spin buttery smooth and ride terrific. Wheels are straight as an arrow. I hate to see these go, but I just can't justify having two pairs of track wheels for a track bike that sees little to no use on an actual track.

Front:

Rear:

(Sorry these are not NJS approved hubs, as NJS only approved 36 hole. However these are exactly the same as the NJS approved hubs other than drilling pattern. These are actually lighter because of the lower spoke count)

Wheels have been exclusively raced on the Alkek velodrome here in Houston.

Here is pair of Superbe track wheels on ebay that are going for almost twice as much: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...m=110867494029

If the ad is still up, I still have the wheels, do not email me asking if I still have them, your email will be ignored.

15(posts) seems to be a big number, but it is really not.

If Raleigh would be 50 miles or closer to me it would be in front of me now.

just returned home from vacation and am still looking for a quality used bike. ( dont want to put one together and dont want to pay store prices)

These three popped up recently. Going by the cycle fitting guide I am around a 51.8-53cm fit. I am 5'6

Let me know if you guys think any of these would be worth checking out.

Should I get this Raleigh instead? It's $50 cheaper....I think it comes with the same components. The only difference is it has some wear and tear on it....it does look like the chains have some rust on it but I can't tell for sure

Ugh, the guy is willing to go down to $200 and he says the only wear is some spot corrosion on the chain and brake calipers that can be washed off.

This is so difficult, the green one definitely looks nicer, but I can't tell if there is any difference in quality between the two models.

EDIT: The green '08 model in the picture comes with some saddle other than the Brooks...can't tell what it is or if it is any good

They're the same model bike, I doubt if there's a different in quality, maybe just condition. If it were me, I'd go for the $300 one because it looks to be in excellent condition and I like buying used stuff when it's in like-new shape. On the other hand, you're just going to use it, so does some corrosion or dings/scratches really matter? Probably not.

I don't know too much about bikes, but that Kilo TT seems to be a decent deal on a great entry-level bike.
