Madison wheelsh*t...uh...I mean wheelset

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I think the oem wheelset/tires of my newly acquired Madison aren't too good for me. The wheelset/tires on my Soho-S looks and feels more robust, but the schrader-valves sucks eggs and I don't know why.

Anyways....I'd like to get a fix/fix wheelset replacement, but I'm also on a budget. What do I do now? Where's are the best places to get quality wheelsets at a fair price?

Thanks for the link. I think these should do me well for the velodrome class. Do you know the braking performance on the road with f/r brakes interfacing on the non-machines braking surface? Good? Bad? Ugly?

So your wheels are true, your hubs spin fine, you haven't stripped out anything, yet you want to get new wheels because they don't feel "robust"?

What...your DP18s aren't robust? Mine sure as hell are. I find them to be rather zesty as well!

The oem R500s feel wimpy under power. I'm a newbie. What's wrong with the DP18s? I'm on a budget and I weigh 250lbs. Strong like bull, too See where I'm going with this? Why are you harshing my mellowdrome dreams with your elitist attitude....blickmandudetteguy?

First of all, blicks is female.

Secondly, I have a set of DP18s and find them to be pretty damn tough. Not quite as nice looking as Velocity Deep Vs but I've had mine for well over a year, ride on some pretty crappy roads, weigh 205 lbs and have never had a problem. I get it...your stock wheels feel noodly and you want something more solid. DP18s/Formulas will most likely serve you well without having to spend a ton of money.

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y....thanks for understanding. And thanks for clueing me in as to who/what blicks is. No biggie. I've been up for almost 26 hours now with a few more to go. I'm feeling kinda noodly...like these noodly R500s...lol.

(hey blicks....its cool)
