Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

FG Riders and Purdue.............COMED ON, NOW! (RANT WARNING)

[rant]I had a heck of a day yesterday on Purdue Campus.......2 incidents

First, I got rear ended by a FG rider who wasn't watching what he was doing in my truck. He wasn't hurt, first priority, and neither my truck or his bike was damaged, also fortunate.........but come on now. I ride fixed myself, and I watch traffic.

Second incident, 2 hrs later. I think this was a member here, but I'm not sure. If you are a young lady that rides a pink framed FG, who blew a stop sign yesterday and heard the tires of a Ford Explorer lock up to avoid hitting you, that was me. I don't want to run anyone over because they blew a sign, much less a member here.

Now, I know it can get to be a time crunch between classes, I know it well, I'm in the same boat, myself, seeing as I'm a student.......

Ride safe, please.

[/rant]

One of them odd days. Good that no one was hurt. Except maybe the first guy's ego.

Yea it happens... especially in the city where I commute to daily; when I'm not on my bike, let's just say my subaru has had numerous potential run ins with bikers who do not obey traffic rules. I even had to deal with some dude who decided it was a good idea to hitch a ride with my STI's oversized spoiler. Luckily my menacing subaru has yet to have tasted cyclist blood and bicycle paint.

Probably the same poster that was bragging about how much more aware you are on a bike than in a car and that's why they never stop for stop signs.

I had a ride that recently started out that way too. The first 3 1/2 miles, 2 car drivers failed to yield right of way. Then there was the pedestrian that wasn't paying attention either. I got past that part of the ride and kept going. Glad I did, but there was a point where I felt maybe I should've walked until it wasn't as crazy, for my own sake. Rest of the day worked out, but we all coincided in that area of the ride and somehow survived it.
