Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Show me your velo orange elkhide covers!

I know there have been a couple of threads in the past concerning the elk hide covers, but they never really had more than one or two pictures of the same shade of the covers, and never anything besides a few days old, so still pretty much brand new.

So I was wondering if there are people out there who have had them for a while to see discoloration, wear, etc.

Thanks!

Here's a shot of my VO elkhide bar wrap as received. The color is "macchiato" (tan), and I have draped it on my "honey" Brooks Swift (saddle has been proofide treated).
I applied some proofide on the end to see how the leather would darken. Looks like a pretty good match to me.

That's exactly the kind of comparison I was looking for. Looks pretty good.
Apparently not a lot of people are rocking these though.
