Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Consider black nmsw aerohead wheels instead of deep vees. Just as strong if built right, much much lighter, and just as
good looking on the bike.

It's just me, but I'd avoid all the old worn out tarck bike cliches. How about a synchros or titec post and stem instead of thomson? An fsa or white crank instead of sugino 75, etc etc. Since it's a bianchi, I personally would go with a full
campy buildup. Spendy but oh so worth it.

Now that's a first...Miche chain, if you're going to blow money on a Thompson seatpost and stem, you might as well blow more on the chain.

This is going to be a singlespeed build?

What chain would you recommend? I am asking honestly. I am going singlespeed and not fixed right now. I do have a fixed clogs and plan on moving that way later on.

Actually, I haven't used the Miche chain at all, I know Scrod has it on his Premium Brew and he likes it. I was just yanking your chain.

If you want a nice but affordable chain though, I'd recommend getting the SRAM PC-7X or the KMC z710sl, both of them are very tough chains or if you really want, you could get the Izumi Super Toughness.

Any of these chains in this site will be good enough for you.

Im pretty surprised with the hostility around here at times....Im not running fixed becuase I havent in a while and dont feel up to par at the moment if thats what you guys want to hear. I will be running a brake to start off.

I dont appreciate the misleading suggestions when I ask real questions, its not only on this thread, Ive seen it on others.

Im learning and am in a city where NOBODY rides bicycles so I have nowhere else to go but here.

Sorry but being able to purchase a $750 Super Pista and having to ask others what to put on it is just asking for sarcastic responses. I suggest you just pick parts you like or read around a little. Im sure you can find tons of threads on parts and make your own decisions.

I do agree with you Deshi, and a lot of people have been very helpful, I really appreciate it.

I dont think it has anything to do with $ as that is really quite relative.

As I am an uneducated enthusiast at this moment, I do search but try to ask around as well.

Well just keep in mind that with this forum, no matter how you ask a question there will be some sarcastic remarks. Its just how it is around here. Some of us have been here for years and get the same questions every couple months so thats when the sarcasm comes to play. As far as some usefull information from me, I would really like to see a Pista Concept built up with a full Campagnolo Pista ground. Pricey but it would be sooo nice.
