Help disasemmbiling bike. paint time

Ok, So i'm going to get my bike painted. But i need to know what to do with the crank arms. Do i just take off the crank arms and leave the bracket in? or what? I think im going to do a Fancy silver or a orange

i would take out the bb and put tissue paper inside of it to keep out paint but so you still get an ever coat over the outside of the shell

Definetly take the BB out unless you plan on doing a precise tape job.

Well my brother works for a rim painting company. Because i dont have the tools to take out my BB and the LBS doesnt no crap and will charge up the butt and strip something. Like they did when i first changed my lockring and cog. good thing i got my money back and a 2 free tires.

I think im going to tap it.

How Do i take out the crank arms? Do i just loosen the giant allen arm on the crank arm?

I've never touched my crank arm. I bring my bike to a differnt shop for that.

Sounds like you need to go to a different LBS and have them pull your crank and BB before you **** up your bike. Remember, you want as little over-spray on the BB threads as possible.

Alright so i need a to get a crank puller and all stuff. Well just going to ride over to the my other lbs. get it ripped off. And get picked up.

crank puller's are like $10 & a BB tool should be like $5, you can dooo iiitttt!!!

leave the bracket in and just put tape over it when you paint it.

how r u stripping ur current paint right now?
For the stripping u would definitely need to take everything off. Esp if u're sandblasting.

I'll probally get it media blasted. If not im going to sand it at home. And primer it in the dustoff room. then get my color base on and poweder coat it. I decided.

then take off all parts and really protect ur threads from the media blast

anyone have any tips on primers? I did a paint job recently that came out pretty ****ty. the paint chips really easily and my primer layer wouldnt go on as smooth as i would have wanted. from a distance it looks alright but when you look at it close you can see all the mistakes, lol. I want to just sand the whole thing down again and start over sometime soon.
