Bianchi Pista bar size
Hey guys, first post so go easy on me. I have an 09 Pista and just swapped the stock drops for Syntace Stratos 400's. The stock stem and bars were supposedly 26.0mm and so are the new Stratos, but the bullhorns are slightly larger in diameter. They fit in the stem but the brake lever doesn't quite fit. I'm pretty sure the bars aren't 31.4 or else they wouldn't even fit in the stock stem, any ideas?

The clamp size will either be 25.4, 26, 31.4 etc.. but this doesnt mean the bar is that size. Depends on the bar.

a lot of bars taper from 26 at stem clamp to 22 (bmx) or 24 or so. i don't know about the stratos but since they're time trial bars it doesn't surprise me that they're small.

I ended up going to the LBS and it turns out the original bars were 25.4 (not 26.0 as indicated on the bianchi website) and the stratos was indeed a 26. Had to get a new lever to fit the bars, thanks for the responses guys.

So you now have 26.0mm bars in a 25.4mm stem? It might LOOK like it fits, but you risk crimping the bars and a catastrophic failure. (Unless I'm missing something... it IS Sunday morning.)
