    SRAM Technical University.

Well, just did my first day of SRAM Technical University. I am taking the road bike coarse this month and will be taking the mountain and suspension in December.

I must say it was awesome listening to the tech on ZIPP wheels. I also got to build a ZIPP 808. I want one.

Well thats about it. Just wanted to share.

Sadly the coarses are short. The road session is only 2 days long. Today was almost entirely ZIPP wheels. Tomorrow will be moving onto the SRAM road groupos.

The Mountain drivetrain and suspension are rolled into one class. It is a 3 day session.

I wish it was longer but still good info to gain.

I wish. The classes are free to shop mechanics so I cant expect any cool free stuff minus some stickers or something like that. Building up a carbon ZIPP is a bit different that building up aluminum rim. Quite easier actually.

Haha, no they are wheels just for the class. I doubt they will ever have a tire even mounted on them.

Let me guess; they'll be disposed of properly afterwards?

If this is your definition of "properly", then you are correct.

Nothing. It is nice to learn the differences between SRAM and Shimano and learn why SRAM does things the way they do it. Getting first hand experience with new product and also getting to tinker with product not yet available is pretty cool. It was free and i was able to score my days off to fit th free class. Why not go and learn.

Basically they get to brainwash a bunch of people who work at LBS's and explain why their equipment is better than Shimano, whilst saying you are actually going to university! lol, do they give you an official certificate?

Don't mean to hate, I support the idea of going out and learning more, but I am pessimistic about the motivations of corporations.

Well you can be as pessimistic as you want. I just went to learn about their equipment. I still dont have a preference on groupos as of now. I just wanted to know how to service their equipment and thats what I learned. Yes they push their product bout so does every other company. You cant fault them for that.
