Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

True, but a cheap off the rack bike doesn't have to be a poorly executed blatant counterfeit of something else. The Pashley Guv'nor posted above is a good example...though admitedly still a bit too pricey. The "retro-ness" of the Kilo OS, on the other hand, is as phoney-looking as the suspension systems on $80 Walmart mountain bikes. They may by acceptable to some, but its why lots of people hate it. Personally, I think the OS is a nice bike, except for the absolutely pointless and r3tarded looking double top tube.
For the record, I think the quality of BD frames and bikes are top-notch for the price, and I am sure the OS is no exception, but the tasteless marketing and amateurish design flaws (and I am using the word "design" loosely) on numerous models are inexcusable. The OS is just another BD creation that belongs on the Island of Misfit Toys.

The Pashley Guvnor can double duty... its really a roadster in disguise and just missing the full roadster outfit.

And its not ungainly at all with Reynolds 531 steel - just the opposite!

Good question! I installed half-clips. They don't accommodate straps -- they're for casual riding, which is how I'm riding the OS.

I think it looks great.. No need to spend half of the OP explaining/defending yourself. It looks like a very solid bike and the design works for what it is.. Nice buy
