fixie newb has upgrade dreams
so i bought a single speed from a friend of mine for 30 bucks. the parts are all generic and i think the frame is from canada or something. I already have an 18 speed road bike for my longer summer commute so this bike is not going to get thousands of miles on it. it's main use will be looking cool at the coffee shop and short distance commuting. it's been set up with an old alexrims b450 on the back because it had a flip flop hub/cog/lockring(donation from a friend.). so it is officially a "fixie".
But! i have never been satisfied with stock bikes. so naturally i'm looking to upgrade virtually everything on it, but the first on this list is the wheels. you people are the scientists, pour your suggestions upon me. and remember i'm going for hipster stereotype here.

lol, hipster stereotype.
these are the ones for you, the tomcat 50 MM DEEP rim
https://cgi.ebay.com/2011-TOMCAT-50mm...item45f5c71df6
and you need to get a 1/8 inch track crank in some iconic colour to match your rimz.
and you cant have brakes.

see this is what i'm talking about. i'm not a hardcore track kid that swears by the single cog brakeless lifestyle, just a hipster ****** trying to buy his way into indie culture. and suggestions like this are just what i need.

And use brakes.
(Pleeeease don't devolve this thread into another brake argument thread. Although I do wonder if OP is a troll... )

Aren't hipsters supposed to not acknowledge their hipsterism? This seems entirely counterproductive....
