Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

My New Project (like I need another one)

I just picked up this gem earlier today. It's an old (somewhere in the 70's) Motobecane Mixte. I'm thinking of making it a Rasta themed fixed gear. Black frame with red green and yellow components.

Seventies Motobecane mixte screams French threads. It'll be a fun project tracking down parts. Use what you can.

Rasta basket is essential.

I think it's late 70's. All the parts are Japanese, so it might not be that bad, unless they made french threaded parts in Japan. The bottom bracket looks like a standard euro bb but I never dealt with French stuff though
