noticed they're like 479, only like 80 bucks more than a kilo tt. these any good? the chainring looks flimsy. hows the frame?

Not comparable to the Kilo TT. Basically, same bike as Windsor Hour, which sells for $280.

Also the same as a Motobecane Track, more or less, which is also $280.

As a lifestyle bike that you arent racing IMHO the fuji is better. I have tried out a friend's kilo tt and another friend's the hour. The kilo tt was harder for me to make turns in because the pedals hit the ground easily. If you re into a more track geometry i heard its better.
The hour on the other hand, felt a lot flimsier than my feather, which has the same frame as a classic track...
But for 500 I think the classic track is a bit overpriced. look for a sale...

Get the Kilo TT unless you want to pay for the Fuji brand name... its the same bike minus the brand name for which you're paying extra.

We always rag on people who hit up the LBS to test ride frames/components, but somehow its ok for BD to completely cop another manufacturer's geometries...Found it real ironic in the Kilo WT thread when Mike claimed he was busy "designing" 60 new frames or something :lol:

The secret is BD bikes are made in the same Taiwan/China factories that produce frames for the bike brands.

So if the bike label isn't important to you, you get that bike minus the middleman markup costs that inflate the final retail price.

They are completely different bikes.

do you guys all drive a toyota or honda just because it gives you the most value for your money? how bout some variety here. seems like every entry level rider in this forum is pushed to a kilo tt. i wouldn't mind paying for a brand.

and driving a toyota or honda because it gives you the most value for your money is TOTALLY a legitimate justification for driving a toyota or honda. ain't much better validation than that. don't mean your acura CSX isn't a good bike, just means you can get the civic ex for much less.

For the most part a lot of these frames are only a few mm's to 1/10's of a mm difference on their dimensions, best to just download a pdf, or cut and past and the compare with a spreadsheet on what the manufacturer provides as geometry specs.

For example, wheelbase of the Fuji 54 cm is 968.9 vs the Hours @ 971 mm, 2.1 mm is roughly .08 inches, which is roughly 2/3 of an 1/8". The chainstays are 408 vs 405 mm, again not even 1/8". Standover is 31" vs 30.5", that's 1/2" difference there. So there are subtle differences, let's hope the measuring points were accurate and done at the same locations for the standover measurement ?

I do not own a car, but yes, I would probably buy a Toyota.

Don't be a fool. Branding on cars is a meaningless as it is on bikes. When you pay for a Honda or Toyota, you are paying extra for reputation (or "heritage"). You are better off buying a cheaper "dark horse" car, such as a Hyundai Elantra. Its basically just as good as a Toyota but cheaper due to its lesser reputation. You could say that Hyundai is like the BD of cars, but not really, because, unlike BD, Hyundai didn't buy someone else's heritage. Hyundai is more like the IRO of cars.
