I could give you my own thoughts on them but I'm biased.

We've sent out a bunch since getting them up for sale last week. I'm sure there will be some feedback soon.

Let's be honest here, Scrod. What do you NOT like about the Catalinas?

I tried to come up with some witty response but cold medicine is taking it's toll on my brain.

There's honestly nothing I don't like about them and I'm stoked that we were able to make them available for a decent price.

great price, great foot retention, lacking in the color department but black goes great with anything... Exactly, what's not to like about them?

We wanted to make different color options but staying simple and keeping prices down was more important. Like you said, black goes with everything!

I got the Catalinas and pedals in the mail yesterday. So far they are awesome. This is the first time that I've used this style of foot retention and BMX pedals and I am really happy with them. Try it out, for the price you can't beat it

I would like to know a few things also.
I want to know if they fit on "track" pedals?
Also I have heard from one "strap" user that pedals become top heavy, thus hard as hell to turn over!
Are they strong enough to ride brakeless?
Whats shipping (2 sets) like to Portland Or 97213?
Thanks sooo much.

It's tough but they will work on some track pedals. It took me a while but I was able to wrestle them through a set of MKS Sylvans using needle nose pliers to pull them through.

Straps like this are pretty top-heavy but most clip/strap combos are too. I find them easy to flip into.

I ride brakeless and was skidding like a mofo trying to find faults or make them slip. I found none and they didn't.

Two sets of straps (without pedals) will run you 8 bucks shipping.

I have the V1's and they're freakin' great. Even if they weren't cheap as hell... I'd still say they're fantastic.

are these type of "bmx" straps any better then the typical large cage/double strap setup?

what advantages are there? besides being able to use fat skate shoes with them. anyone ever slip out while skidding or spinning fast?

Been looking at them a bit now. What benifits does the D-ring give over the plain strap? Wondered about the D-ring diging into the side of my foot.

The first version was comfortable but having feet on the wider side, I find that the new version feels better because the D-ring puts two pivot points right where the upper and lower straps meet - allowing a little more movement than one solid mass. I tested them out in a few different pairs of shoes and even in slip-on Vans, I had no issues.

I'm glad you have wide feet to compare to. I myself have sized 12-4E feet.

Hopefully some other people who have bought them can chime in soon so it doesn't seem like I'm just tooting my own horn!

Now that the holidays are over and I have survived (financially) I will be ordering my straps very soon. Kinda excited....

I got mine in the mail yesterday. So far I only put the straps onto the Odyssey pedals but my initial impressions are that they're pretty solid. They appear to be a lot stronger and more durable than the cage/single strap I've been using. Unfortunately, I broke my clavicle 3 weeks ago so I haven't been riding my FG since it's hard to skid with a broken collarbone.. and I ride brakeless. Was hoping I could ride by the time I got these but it's still hurting so maybe in a week! I'll report back then.. hopefully.. haha.

And are there any specific track pedals that would be recommended for use with these straps?

I just want to say, I don't trust products that are being sold by people with dreadlocks.

P.S lookin' forwards to my Gnargyle shirt.
