Assuming he can ride it (it'd kill this ageing wombat), that's a stunning bike

Heh, thanks a lot for your positive comments. I'm not that tall, actually closer to 5'9" and this is a 55cm frame which is a tad small for me, with 165mm cranks this is the seatpost height I need. I still prefer smaller frames since it gives you more flexibility to work with different stem lenghts etc and just feels more stable to ride. The perspective in the image tricks the eye, the drop isn't so huge as it looks.. I have pretty long arms so I have no problem reaching the drop and the riding position is actually comfortable for me yet agressive(I'm still under 30 though, lol). Regarding the bike I'm actually pretty happy with it(full gipiemme pista etc), but when I get the budget I would really like to slap on a pair of wheels built with black anodized loprofile rims, like ambrosio crono or arc-en-ciel.

I dont know really, might just be me screwing up the metric>inches conversion(I live in sweden) but I'm 182cm, I think thats 5'9" and pedal reach is no problem at all.. There are some room to lower the saddle but I like being able to stretch my legs when pedaling according to the words by Sheldon. I do think it's the image angle playing tricks, making the frame proportions skewed. Top tube is 55cm c/c for sure. Again, thanks for all compliments, and maybe some more images on https://velospace.org/node/41645 would clarify frame size, unfortunately I dont have any action pics..

I had the tires, figured this was the best way to wear them down, I don't have anything else with blue anywhere. The headset came with the frameset, so that kind of set the blue accent direction.
Similar story with the cranks, they're surly mr. whirly and most likely headed for a mtb/triple build, but in the meantime I'm open to 110 BCD ring options.
Here's the bike before I ditched the ergo bars and 105 levers-

I love it. This is pretty similar to what I want my pista to look like and I'm about 95% there with the stock parts.

Now that I think I have it dialed in, I'll play.

Uncut steerer, black rear cog (nitpicking) and hood position might seem a bit funky. Maybe someone else can chime in on that. Otherwise very clean build
