Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Least bang for the buck

We're always looking for the best deals and most bang for the buck in bikes and components. But how about the worst deals and least value for money spent? Don't we need a thread for this as well?

So, I submit the following for your consideration and invite you to contribute something even worse.

https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...muters/gritty/

^^^ That bike is less expensive and has better componentry than the Trek. The judges have rejected your entry.

Their "Triton" looks almost as bad, singlespeed commuter with generic components at the cost of an entry level road bike with generic components. Suuuuper lame.

While we are at it, ceramic headset bearings are pretty much a rip off.

Is the Gritty that bad of a deal? It will probably sell for less than $400. I am sure the components are really generic, but it is still pretty reasonable for a starter. Just my opinion.
