Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

$400 is too much for you? Then why are you looking at Republic bikes (the cheapest of which, by the way, are also hi-ten steel)?

http://www.irocycle.com/angusbuild-a...dwheelset.aspx

A complete 631 steel bike for $400 is an awesome deal.

Yes it is, but don't forget that it doesn't include pedals/clips/straps or brake calipers/levers. So actual cost is probably closer to $500.

What you mean is, you want to choose the colors of a pre built fixed gear.
