Unbranded lugged track frameset?

https://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-LUGGED-CRO-M...item2eabd4ded4

Does anyone know about these? Are they any good? I cant find anything about them. Does it seem like a good deal?

I wouldn't pay 350 for that, but that's just me. I think you can find something nicer for the money. You can get a complete kilo tt for not that much more.

Well I pretty much bought all new parts, wheelset, crank, peddles recently because of an accident. I've yet to change anything out on my frame, but I was looking at and I've realized there are some dents I did not see before.

I think it looks nice. But, it says, "52cm and 54cm only". That may be a deal-breaker for you.

All chrome lugged can look pretty sweet:

(my teammates old bike. It's small, 51 or 52cm)

If it's worth it to you, then get it. Why hunt around to save $100 for a frame that you don't really dig.

I dig it, but it really depends on if you dig it. Ya dig?

I dig the frame, but not at that price. It seems kinda generic for 350.

Google "nickel lugged frame" find it for 324.95. Looks ridiculous though. I'd scoop if I could get more specs. But pretty.

it is generic. bike island and bikes direct are both the same company, island is a subsidiary.

that basically IS a kilo tt, just with lugs.

I really like the frame, and on this listing https://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-LUGGED-CRO-M...item2eabd4e4a0 it has a 56, which is my size. I found the same frame on bikeisland actual site, but no 56 and also only 299. Weird.

By the way, there is no such thing as "free shipping". It's just rolled into the cost of the bike.

Actually, it's an SE Premium Brew with a different finish, made by Maxway.

Same specs, same geo. Nice frame but I wouldn't pay $350.

Yeah the price seemed steep. I emailed bike island to see if they could sell it to me for the normal 299 they sell it on their site.

Why don't you just buy it from the Bike Island website?

Thats what im saying, its cheaper plus you dont have to pay for shipping.

And that way if you get the frame damaged via shipping email bikeisland and they'll replace it.

Yeah thats what I'm doing. I emailed them asking if they could sell me the 56 through the site since that ebay listing stated they had a 56. I'm stoked. Birthday present to myself. Is there any reason I should not get one? 299shipped seems like a good deal but I might be mistaken. Should I take a look at other frames before I pull the trigger? I don't want to be wooed away by ascetics like a little school girl.

$299 for a nickel-plated lugged Maxway frame is a good deal. I had the green version of that same frame (SE Premium Brew) and absolutely loved it:

I'd ask about the space between the headset and head tube. Doesn't look like good quality. Poor facing? Messed up lugs? Crap frameset?

That's like saying that someone is wearing crappy shoes because one of them is untied. Looks to me like someone didn't know how to install the headset cups.

Maxway frames aren't junk.
