any idea for a rear brake on a Vigorelli ?

I own a 2008 Cinelli Vigorelli frame. I would ride the bike brake less, but the local police here in Zuerich doesn't really like it and the fines are expensive.

By law all bikes need to brakes one front and one back.

Solved the front brake by getting a new fork.

Any suggestions for the rear brake?

Drilling is to be avoided and is there a nicer alternative to a Dia Compe Keirin brake kit?

sup? oh yea we did it to a vigorelli once:

steel plates with at least 3 holes evenly spaced x 2
long hex nuts and bolts x 2
extra bar tape for frame protecting x 2
brake bolt goes through one of the holes.
All material from Home Depot except bar tape.
Cost: $3.50 USD

*important: must use the seatstay's bridge as a "pivot point" for the brake bolt that sticks out to resist braking force, so wrapp the bridge with bartape too.

If you're running it fixed, I'd just do a sorry job of making it look like I had a functional break in the back so the police wouldn't ask questions. I personally wouldn't care if it worked or not.. But that's just me.

more importantly.. does the law actually say both working brakes? that must be really annoying for your local riders lol.
this brake works to 100% stopping power as a drilled one because it utilizes the bridge the same way. fyi.

I had the same thought, but here in Switzerland police can be a pain.
A front brake only would meet my requirements, but the law requires to working brakes.
The fine for one missing brake is still CHF 388.-- = 405.-- $, if the fines were less ok.

I'd vote for MuckyMucky's design then... That break lever on the seatpost looks kind of cool anyways.

Mucky's seatpost brake lever mounting always cracks me up. Anyway, If I were to do it, I'd fab a clamp that had smoothed/rounded edges and better distribution of the load on the seat stays...
