Looking forward (and showing his track roots), he’s developing a BB30 style track crankset with a third party because it’ll bring a lot of stiffness to a discipline that can really use it.

I don't think BB30 in a steel frame makes a lot of sense but I would like to talk to Don about it. Don't get me wrong, I know steel can be make stiff enough to benefit from BB30 but as I understand it you have to remachine the BB after brazing due to the tolerances. But as a format, I really like my 2 BB30 bikes.

I'm sure the BB30 is stiffer...but its one of those things that is never going to matter to 99.999% of the people out there, even most amateur racers. If someone wanted to give it to me free...sure, otherwise, its not worth getting a hard on about, at least not until its mainstream and the parts are readily available with time-tested designs.
