Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

It's my first time trying risers and I like them so far. What kind of distances are they comfortable for?

For me, approx 2 miles on the road. YMMV.

I think I'm going to go clipless and be done with the build.

RISER BIKE IMG SNIP
I'm pretty alright with risers up to about 7 miles. After that, I start to look for other hand positions.

I've got risers on my Schwinn Cutter. I've put 30+ miles on it the last couple nights. Biggest issue I have is riding into a strong wind; riding home into the teeth of a 30 mph headwind last night was a beeotch. Comfy enough though.

yep, I'll try to get some better pics of it. The detail in the drawings is pretty amazing.

Everything on the bike was basically rusted or corroded. So, this was the easiest thing. Besides...I don't like gears! I think an eccentric rear hub might be in it's future.

Came with these though...

But not a fan.
