Yes, it's a B-17 I've had about four years now. At 6'8", my ape-ish arms keep me at a pretty reasonable angle. I've never ridden with this much drop before, but if it becomes a problem, I might switch to something else. Do the Velo Orange leather saddles have the same problems? (Specifically the model 6)

calv 03-22-13 09:46 PM

No idea about Velo Orange but you can look into the Brooks racing saddles like the Swift or Team Pro (<- I think that's one of them).

SS_Giant 03-22-13 09:54 PM

woa, thats another big bike *high five*

Damn, youre 6'8?? ****ing tall! I was going to say that does look uncomfortable and should get a stem riser if youre 6'8 and need the seat up that high?

Btw- hows the nashbar carbon fork?

I'll give you a review after a few hundred miles. Quality and craftmanship are the same I would expect from any of the big brands, it's light but not as light as one with a carbon steerer.

Also, the reach and fit seem fine at this point. One man's "fits like a glove" is another's "holy back pain!"

Haven't done much yet since I only got it a few months ago: Continental GatorHardShell 25mm tires, MKS Urban Platform pedals, All City Toe Clips, Retrogression Double Straps, Thomson X2 stem (100mm -17deg), Deda RHM02 bars (just put them on because my new bar tape comes in tomorrow), and an EAI 19t cog.

I'm cutting the steerer tube this week, swapping in an FSA OrbitX headset, and swapping the chain with a KMC K710SL because I need an extra link or two to make room for the new cog that makes my tire close to rubbing on the frame.

Nice kilo, dude. I think this is the first time I've seen someone upgrade so much with the stock saddle still on.

Haha, thanks! I honestly have no problem with the saddle for now. My next two upgrades will be a new wheelset (probably the H+ Sons SL42s in all black) and a new saddle as long as I can find a decent black one at around 80$ or less.

calv 03-24-13 09:18 PM

$80 is a pretty good price point for a saddle. Lots of choices, especially if you find a used one. You might want to save up a little more dough and do a demo program at your LBS.

Just wrap some electrical tape around the frame's joints so it looks like it's lugged :D

not sure if youre trolling, but pretty much every kilo on here for the last few pages is lugged? If they have chrome on the chainstays, its lugged my dude

i'm not sure you know what you are saying. unless you count the front fork being lugged as meaning the frame is lugged?

newsballs 03-29-13 09:31 AM

I don't mind the stock Kilo TT saddle.

FakeFuji 03-29-13 10:10 AM

I was okay with my stock saddle until I rode a better one

az_andrew 03-29-13 10:15 AM

screw BD, get a kilo from this dude, only $1400!

well to my knowledge there are no lugged frame kilos, just lugged forks. I am confusing myself

Amazing

Hieberrr 04-01-13 07:34 PM

Do you guys actually ride on the stock drops? They seem really huge in the pictures. The hoods also look uncomfortable :S

Nagrom_ 04-01-13 07:38 PM

The stock hoods are so uncomfortable because they don't exist. So that's something.
