Need help buying bolts for chainring

I just bought a Sugino 40t inner chainring. Now i need the bolts. The ones i have now are like 10 or 9mm, I measured and can't remember exactly. With those the chainring is loose. I have some options here:

Single - 10/pcs - 6mm - Chromed Steel (I think this is it)

Double - 10/pcs - 8x8.4

Single - 10/pcs - 8x6.7

Track - 10/pcs - 8x5.7

What BCD is it?

You might have bought one of those chainrings pictured below, which can't be used with a set of cranks with spider.

By not fitting, do you mean it won't go into the holes or when you tighten the chainring bolts, the nuts and bolts are tight but wiggly in the hole?

If it is the latter, you need shorter bolts; if it is the former, you've got a defect.

I'll go measure

brb

The single bolts that I have are 7mm tall including the lips and the lips are 1mm tall exactly.

You could basically measure the thickness of the crank spider and the thickness of the bolt holes on your chainring then get bolts that are shorter than the combined thickness.

I think the 6mm should suffice but there is no harm in getting the shortest - 5.7mm - ones as they are "track" specific.
