That's the absurd part. Why spend that kind of money at all on sneakers that won't be worn? I can understand if they were the actual shoes worn in the movie. Those are a collectors item suitable for a museum. But these in the auction are simply new shoes that cost $25 in materials and labor to produce...if that much.

What's more is that the idea of "helping a good cause" isn't really valid because a direct donation to a charitable organization is tax deductible. Money spent purchasing a product whose profits go to a charitable organization is not. If you want your money to go the furthest, simply donate directly.

I just really want the shoes.... and the proceeds from them just happens to go to the charity.
As was the phil tsunami hubs which I have as well... but me and my wife did make a considerable direct donation as well after that to the red cross.

I almost ate some gnar **** after rolling over some gnar cracks and bumps at the bottom of a hill. They jolted me so much that I lost hold of my handle bar, but I managed to keep riding straight and grab the bar after the mess was over. gnarly. I really felt like I was going to fall sideways or flip over the bar and faceplant.

Easy solution; bring her with you!
It makes the time go so much faster; and in my case, we usually go over the pre - planned distance.

Uh oh. Riding by yourself isn't that bad though. Just makes it feel longer.

Today I flipped and slammed the stem on my vintage roadie.

I have an art opening in a week, and if it sells, I'm putting some of the cash to a new BMC, which I can now get a big team discount on. Prices aren't out yet but I'm hoping I can spring for a Race Machine with a little graduation money helps.

Fiori Amalfa with columbus SL tubing. 90's era. Got it your cheap on ebay. It's a Canadian bike. No pictures yet as it is being shipped.

I plan to build it up with full Campy Chorus.

I can't really find a lot of info on my particular Fiori model.

Today I:
• Got bummed that the wheels I traded for aren't real deep V's, but DP18's, and started worrying about the weight of my bike.
• Got paranoid about my BB/crankset on my BD bike for no real reason.
• Received my Cane Creek 200TT brake levers for the bullhorns I don't have yet because Nashbar takes 3 days to ship something.

Today I registered for Spokefest. A bunch of guys from my dorm and I are riding there, doing the classic loop, and riding back fixed. It should be a good time but I'm not used to biking in 90 degree weather. I miss the PNW climate!

the GPS is way more accurate than the car. generally +/-~10% allowable inaccuracy on automotive gauges. include the +/-~5% industry allowable variance in rolling diameters on different tires of the same size by different manufacturers and you've got loads of inaccuracies.

LOVE these dt shifters. then if i can help the cross threadings on the fd i'll put the da cranks on and have a road bike. oh, and fenders. and then comes the rando rack and bag, big tires, dynamo front wheel and lights, and brooks. then it's winter tour time.
yes.

why do i love functional/beater builds better than super shiny expensive bikes?
