Today I spent the hours of 3-5 tracking down people and collecting friends in my car. And the hours of 5-9 with people who were hit. 9-11 were spent trying to find cars before they were towed. After work I'm going to be going back to the hospital.

So much changed in the hours between 12am and 2am. This is whats left of my jamis. Thats the bike my good friend was riding when this happened.
Hope that works. If it doesn't I'll get it working. I haven't gotten any sleep yet and I doubt i'll get it any time soon.

Went out for my first long(ish) ride after crashing hard a few weeks ago. Blew a tube about a mile away from my home while passing a jogger on a multi-use path. I think that for a second we both thought the other one had shot a gun at the other. Only managed to get the tire back up to about 90psi with CO2 and limped to the bike shop to place an order, forgot to ask if I could use a floor pump before I left, limped to a cyclist-friendly bar and asked a roadie if I could use his tire pump to fill up. We ended up riding and drinking beers for like three hours, and it was pretty awesome.

+1 for interspecies diplomacy

Also I guess my superstition about never mentioning how I haven't had a flat in a while is complete bull****. Or maybe not.

I went on the Antrim ride that has been so much fun these last few times. I have to travel through a residential area before hitting the highway overpass to the trail and I always cross this intersection.

Scares me everytime because it really is blind. I act as if the stop sign was actually where it is supposed to be.

I just committed a great cycling sin. I threw up a brooks b17 on a thomson zero set back on my 727. Going out to ride it; hopefully I won't die or be killed with a u lock blow to the head from behind. For the sake of curiosity!

Saddles are like underwear... people take time picking colors and looks when no one is going to see them!

Unless you like sharing your pictures on the internet.

A few days ago at the shop I work at some guy came in and started *****ing because one of our mechanics said his bike wouldn't be done for a few days. His argument was that he was a commuter and he rides everyday therefore he should get put to the front of the line. Our mechanic politely told him that 80% of our customers are commuters and ride every day (statistic not based on fact) so he'd have to wait. The guy got super pissed off so our head mechanic yelled at him to get out and find another shop but he ended up still leaving his bike.

He came to pick it up today, right as we were closing, and yelled at us again because he said we miscommunicated with him and put on more expensive cranks than he wanted even though they were the only ones that would work for his bottom bracket and we told him that. My manager told him to leave so he ended up not paying at all and then said he'd tell everyone he knows never to come to our shop again.

He made a huge deal out of nothing because he wasn't the most special person of the bunch and caused a whole ruckus while we were closing. I'll be glad to never see him again.
