I'll have to cast my vote in favor of the landslide victory of kool stop salmon, I had a pair on my daily commuter back home and they stopped on a dime.
The first thing you do when you buy a tektro caliper is to remove and toss the inserts and replace them with koolstop salmons. The only upstaging to kool stop salmons, I have be honest, are the swisstop yellows that came stock with my sram red brakeset on my roadie. They are so grippy on the brake surface of my s80's that I have the feeling that if I were to just crush the brifter in during a full sprint I would instantly go over the bars. But considering the price of them is nearly 5 to 1 the price of kool stop salmon inserts I'll have give the blue ribbon to the salmon pads. |

despite the 'wet condition' designation i currently run them on 3 of 4 road bikes (the 4th having carbon rims w/swissstop yellow), including a front-only fixed-gear, and have done so exclusively for maybe 5 years / 20k miles? they are just pad inserts, so use them with whatever caliper / pad holder you fancy. they are extremely easy on rims, at least in my mostly dry conditions. lifespan is a bit shorter than others, but they so kick the crap out of everything else in every other way that i really don't mind. |

Nice delta dookie! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has taken mine out of the closet and into good use.

I don't like the ability to lock up a rear wheel so easily, having to stop quickly on my road bike and skidding sucks. I read somewhere on BF that some people will use a dual pivot on the front and a single pivot on the rear, I don't remember the reasoning though.
