    Bianchi Pista/Masi Speciale geometry

    So I was looking at the geometry of these two frames and was wondering what the real difference was in the ride. I noticed that the seat tube was slightly smaller on the Masi mostly because it comes in a 60 where the Bianchi comes in 61. However, being a shorter seat tube the top tube on the Masi is slightly longer. Also, I noticed that the seat angle on the Masi was slightly smaller but had a longer chain stay. Given the differences are very very slight, I was just wondering if there were any main differences in the feel for the ride or if one a better geometry or if I'm just being neurotically specific about this all. If you have any other inputs about frame geometry I'd love to hear them since I'm trying to learn as mucha bout it as I can!

    The measurement that is most important is the top tube. The seat tubes are only a cm apart and you won't notice a difference.

    Also, high seat tube angle + head tube angle= more nimble handle

    Longer stays, shallower head and seat tube and larger main triangles all mean a softer rider and more stable steering. Conversly short stays and steap angles means a more harsh ride and more agile steering. People in the street fixed world generally go for the later because that how velodrome racing bikes are set up. But I usually advise people that are going to be riding on the roads to go for the former. The one caviate would be if you are working as a messenger or have some reason to be riding in lots of heavy high speed traffic almost exclusivly you may want to go closer to a track racer set up. With the slight differences you probably wont be able to tell the difference, but that is the basic theory.

    awesome! thanks for the advice! which one would be more nimble of a ride though? that's kind of what I'm looking for or are there any suggestions for cheaper track style bicycles or frames?

    the top tube length is the most important factor in determining the correct reach but also not to be overlooked is the head tube length and bottom bracket height. track frames have shorter head tubes and higher bottom brackets compared to road frames. the pista has more of a track geometry than the speciale.
