Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Windsor TheHour putting on brakes

I just recently received by bike and I am having a hard time installing the free brake they sent me.

Where do I stick the wire through? Is there a youtube video that shows this? I can't seem to find the 2nd hole :/

You run the cable thru the barrel adjuster on top and stop the housing there. Loosen the bolt on the bottom arm and pass the cable between the square nut and quick release inside the bolt. After adjustment you tighten the bolt to secure the cable.

the cable goes through that knurled receiver at the top, then gets clamped right below it via allen bolt and a plate that holds it down. you feed the cable through the hole, then clamp it when you have the desired brake pad play

he starts with derailleurs and what not, but it's the same concept

Unscrew the screw that is circled, and then where the smaller circle is, there should be a groove or a knurled-like surface on that little square piece you have that goes against the cable. Put the cable between that piece and the brake, then tighten the screw down, clamping the cable between the two.

No problem!

Make sure you get some cable housing if you don't have some already.
