Does anybody know how long nashbar is going to have this deal? I'm trying to convince a roadie buddy who emphasizes "pro" a bit too much to get one heheh.

    Longtime lurker, first-time poster.

I gots one too, and mine has a crimp by the "I" of the right chainstay, then another, lesser one by the "J"

Also, regarding the seatpost slippage issue: soda can shim?

Why are you unable to sell it? Because of the crimped chainstays?

No, I got a good frame. It's because it's such a beautiful frame... I don't know if I can bring myself to sell it!

That's the newest revision; I have one too in what seems to be a slighter recess in the drive side stay.

Nice! I got the same one - but ripped the sticker off. Its ugly and more drag. First build for me, should be interesting - may need some help.

There is a custom painted white one that some Japanese guy (I think) made with a white disc and some sort of Hello Kitty type animated character. I can't find it though.

    Asking for Advice here:

I have been in the market for a new frame (my current build is a conversion) at a good price. I did not have lofty ambitions for this new build because I didn't want to drop thousands of dollars on components. The plan was to use my current bike for rainy days/ beater purposes and build up the new one for sunny weather. I have no problem with 165mm crankarms and 44T (im currently riding 16x42). Should I buy this frame?

We seriously need a Dear Abby section of this forum.

    Why do you say this?

The ride would have more to do with the components of the build than the materials and geo of this frame. The right wheels, tires, bars, and saddle can make a nice ride.

If you get the updated frame with the really messed up looking chainstay (which is a good thing in this case), I think this would be a decent sunny weather bike. Keep in mind that a decent build from the bottom up will cost you at least $400 on top of the cost of the frame, and that's on the very low side of the cost spectrum.

Duly Noted. I anticipate it will cost me a bit more so I will have to space out my purchases. Fortunately, my secret vise is that I love it when my room is littered with un-assembled bicycle components

I switched over from my 727 to my steel paddywagon for campus duty; approximiately a half and a quarter of a year my buttox did not touch the likes of a steel bike; it was essentially a components swap between the the two minus the crankset/BB and headsets (close nonetheless; omniums on the paddy wagon and 75's on the 727). An entire world of difference, especially on a campus where greedy administrators/ regents of uc deprive students of adequate funding for academics; pretty sure campus infrastructure is low on their list.

    Not to mention the geo.

I'm still waiting for one with a set of townie bars and slammed integrated seatpost with brooks; at $200 a pop, it's all a matter of time.
